Dancing With the Stars Week 5 Recap: Did the Right Couple Go Home?
After putting its viewers on one insanely emotional roller coaster just seven days ago, Dancing With the Stars provided the perfect palate cleanser on Monday in the form of Disney Night.
Hoping to see Mickey Mouse tickle the ivories? Longing for Kermit the Frog’s presence at the judges’ dais? In the mood to watch CGI’d Disney characters flit across your TV screen? As it does every season, Disney Night has all of that, along with some pretty magical performances.
Of course, an unhappy ending awaited one Season 25 pair on Monday — but before we get to the results, let »
The Voice Recap: Battle Stations!
It’s a cliché and a half to say that everything can change during The Voice’s Battles. In fact, if Carson Daly said it, I’m sure I’d roll my eyes. But it’s also, weirdly, true. Last season, I went into the Battles backing Felicia Temple and came out in awe of (eventual winner) Chris Blue. Going into Season 13’s Battles, my money was on… well, you know. However, I wouldn’t be in the slightest surprised if, by the time they were over, I was rooting for a different singer. Did Monday’s kickoff of the Battles, »

Supergirl Recap: Mind Over Matter (Plus, Who Returned to Earth?)
Monday’s Supergirl was a real mindscrew.
This week’s episode introduced us to Psi (Jane the Virgin‘s Yael Grobglas), a master of mental manipulation with a penchant for robbing banks. “More money, more happiness,” she told Kara during their first encounter, to which I say someone needs to brush up on her Notorious B.I.G.
Psi’s secret weapon is her ability to exploit her enemies’ fears, which prompted her to send Kara back to the day she fled Krypton. This obviously sucked for Supergirl, but »

Episode 3 of Ten Days in the Valley delivered 2.6 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating, holding steady week-to-week — but is it too little, too late?
Fwiw, show boss Tassie Cameron promised at summer TCA that Ten Days‘ 10-episode freshman run tells a complete story, but “bombshells kind of drop all the way through that I think would be very interesting territory for a second season, should we be so lucky.”

Captain Lorca had to fight for his life this week on Star Trek: Discovery — and he didn’t get much help from a classic Trek character.
Lorca starts out the week on a Starfleet space station, bragging to Admiral Cornwell about all the great things the Discovery has accomplished since they fired up the spore drive. But on a shuttle ride back to his ship, he’s ambushed by Klingons, who kill the pilot and take Lorca hostage. (Seems they’ve heard a bit about this spore drive, too.) They throw Lorca in a prison cell, where he meets… Harry Mudd! »
